Many products claim to be the world’s smallest, but this one you have to see to believe. The Motorola H5 Mini Bluetooth Headset fits discreetly inside your ear, eliminating the obtrusive wireless headset look altogether. You’ll almost feel like you're in the

Secret Service when wearing one. But the truly innovative part of this tiny gizmo is its ability to pick up your voice through the ear canal.

Due to the commotion and ear-splitting hubbub of CES, I was unable to test it out to find out if the sound quality was indeed clear, But on the surface, the H5 looks like a truly cool product -- and a much better solution than an awkward, over-ear contraption with an oblong chunk of plastic that juts out to your cheekbone. On the downside, its tiny size could make it easy to lose, and it may not get great battery life. Nevertheless, I think that size-conscious consumers will rush out to get it when it is released in the first half of 2006.

Is this the perfect little gadget, or is it entirely too small? Tell us what you think.

How much is it going to go for?

Small is only good if the device delivers features that are useful, and work as they should. Look at the elegance of the ipod, and it ease of use compared to other mp3 players. If this thing is crap, it will go the way of the ROKR phone; a hype idea that was released too soon. -the fool

I agree. If it works like the big bluetooth headsets... GREAT! If not, call me when it does!

It looks great and it's theoretically sound idea but what about the microphone? Hearing is one thing but how would it filter and differntiate noise from the bluetooth device user?

Way too small, I think - too easy to lose. Or do you wear it all the time? If so, does it block out environmental sounds? Heck, the next step would be an implant ... sorry, I'm not ready for that.

Which hypothetically ingenious engineer designed this thing? OK, so we've done away with the boom and the dangingling microphone on a string; but why do away with any means of attaching the device to the body (other than implanting it in an ear)? What about the classic ear hook? The innovation of this device is clearly its capacity for capturing sounds from within the ear canal (untested), but set against its more negative features, that might not be enough to give it staying power.
